With the goal of promoting Curitiba as a recognized offshore destination, the Curitiba Offshore Center was formed by 16 of Curitiba’s IT companies. Emerging from the Software Cluster of Curitiba, the initiative has the goal of increasing Curitiba’s share of the offshore market.
The offshore market is estimated at US$ 100 billion this year. According to Carlos Alberto Jayme, coordinator of the Software Cluster of Curitiba, the creation of the Curitiba Offshore Center is aligned with the Cluster’s goal of promoting the software of Curitiba known as a world class.
In the past many local companies and captive centers were working independently and redundantly to promote Brazil and Curitiba’s potential as an offshore destination. The Center allows these companies and captive centers to work together, saving time and money by sharing resources both in Curitiba and abroad.
The BRAZIL-IT and the Curitiba Offshore Center are combining their efforts to complement each other so as to maximize results and achieve their common goal: increase software exports.
