2019 was a year for awards, engagement, and changes.
We began 2019 by receiving the Public Municipal Consecration Award from the Curitiba’s Municipal Council. This award is given to local companies that promote human dignity and have a positive impact on the city.
June: top 3 finalists on the National Innovation Award in innovation management among midsize companies. August: the State Industries Federation (aka FIEP) recognized us as one of the three highlight companies of the year. October: nominated among the 100+ IT Innovators with the case: CINQ Store powered by Blockchain.
We are among Brazil’s Midsize Fast-Growing Companies for the 2nd year in a row, this time on 55th place, and the 2nd on IT. We are also among the 200 biggest Brazilian IT companies list from 2019 Annual IT Today.
Great Place to Work
CINQ was awarded the GPTW Award as being 32nd Best Companies to Work For in Technology (Brazil) and 14th place on Paraná State. CINQ has been receiving the award for 9 years.
We received from Clutch the “Top Developers in Florida” badge. Clutch.co is a B2B rating guide out of Washington DC.
In 2019 we increased our presence in business conferences. In August we were at HDI Insurance IT Talks, a tech conference for 450 HDI employees from IT and Business. We showcased our CINQ Store powered by Blockchain, a gamified internal eCommerce for CINQ employees.
In November, we sponsored the 2019 SITA Euro Air Transport IT Summit in Lisbon, an event organized by SITA the biggest air transport solutions provider in the world. CINQ was the only Latin American company at the summit. We also sponsored and had a booth where we showcased two products:
- CINQ Store powered by Blockchain;
- BPS – Baggage Printing Station.
Also in November, and commemorating 12 years of Agile culture, we sponsored the Curitiba Agile Conference 2019 and we gave a workshop on Product Backlog Refining.
Last year we completed our 27th birthday and felt that our brand deserved an uplift. Therefore, in March CINQ went through a rebranding process. Our new brand unites technology, people and creativity. Moreover, the new brand allowed us to better position ourselves as a company and it communicates our pillars: agility, creative ideas, and innovation.
With our new identity, we went in search of new offices. They had to reflect CINQ’s new identity and value propositions.
We began in March with our Curitiba headquarter. The drivers for changing our headquarter was a better life quality for our employees, open spaces to facilitate collaboration, a lot of natural light and workstations ergonomics. Next was the Ponta Grossa branch office. We changed to a new building with better amenities close by, maintaining the same look and feel from Curitiba’s office.
Both offices now have bigger and better-equipped meeting rooms, and the headquarters has:
- a lab for cocreations, develop proof of concepts and test new ideas;
- a training room for Design Thinking sessions and other CINQ Tech events.
The training room is frequently used by our team to host CINQ Tech sessions, such as React, Angular, Flutter and other languages boot camps, Mentors sessions, and CINQ Stories and CINQ Share shares. It is also used to host events for the tech community of Curitiba, such as Women Tech Makers, Confra Ladies, and Agile Curitiba. Moreover, the training room was used for CSM and CSPO certification training.
Tech scene participation
In 2019, CINQ also took steps to be closer to innovation centers. We are present in Spark District in Curitiba and Fintech District in São Paulo. Both environments foster collaboration, innovation, and creativity. CINQ is there to be kept on the loop of what is happening in the tech world, as well as, close to current and potential clients.
In September, CINQ hosted the first CINQ Innovation Meetup at our headquarters in Curitiba. These are monthly encounters to discuss innovation and establish a collaboration network to share experiences, methods, techniques, and insights. The meetup happens in both Curitiba and São Paulo alternating each month.
