In its startup phase, CINQ started innovative. In 1992, quickly embraced the graphical interfaces and standardized communication protocols. In the sequence, developed and deployed internet banking projects and smart cards for public transportation. In 2000, began working with mobile projects, with Palm OS, and subsequently consolidated this area, with mobile developments for Android, iOS and multiplatform.
In 2008, to further stimulate innovation in the company, the area of BSDL (Business Solution Design Lab) was created. The area was designed to use cutting-edge trends and technologies, together with market business needs, to create innovative solutions by applying design thinking concepts. Several initiatives have been proactively presented to customers and the market since, for example, we have managed to develop mobile apps in a pioneering way for application stores and customers already in 2009. CINQ already utilized Sprint Design concepts since 2008, when rapidly developed several POCs (proof of concepts), to validate needs pointed out by customers, specify them and transform them into a prototype with navigable screens.
The BSDL area became Cinq Lab, where we study and test the latest trends in technology and apply it in the business. Currently, we are mainly evaluating and testing machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence and Blockchain. At the same time as we empower ourselves in these fronts, we observe the market to verify which needs can be met by these new technologies.
After some experiments, at least two concrete projects are already underway. One for the external market, which through the application of machine learning and deep learning, manages to make predictive analyses of flight cancellations and disruption at airports. The second case applies in the product of our startup Checkmob, where conventional OCR algorithms are not sufficient to acknowledge the numbers printed on certain conditions. In this case, we use machine learning techniques so that the algorithm is trained from the various formats of digits found.
In addition to the application of the new technology itself, CINQ Lab also aims to evaluate and recommend the best usage experience for the customer. In this way, UX designers and analysts make up the time for the solution to present the best technological architecture and enable the best usage experience.
